-Where does your drinking water come from?

-Do you drink tap water or buy bottled water?

-Water covers more than 70% of the Earth’s surface, yet many parts of the world don’t have enough drinking water. Why is this?

-Which of the following water –related problems do you think is the most serious? Why?

PRE READING EXERCISE

Look at these potential solutions to water shortages. Rank them in order of the most effective to least effective (1 = most effective).


a) build reservoirs 
b) drink salt water 
c) persuade people to use less water 
d) transport ice from the polar regions

(Example: 1=c, 2=a etc)
